SCDIRB has two copies (1 complete, and 1 incomplete).
SCDIRB c. 1 has v. 1, pt. 1 (39088000885665), v. 1, pt. 2 (39088000885673), and v. 2, pt. 1 (39088000885681), with call number QD151 .D15 1808.
SCDIRB c. 1 has bookplates: 1. (v. 1, pt. 1-2) Mr. T. Scattergood [apparently Thomas Scattergood, 1826-1900, M.R.C.S, L.S.A, dean of the medical department at the Yorkshire College, surgeon, and genealogist who wrote articles for the Dictionary of national biography (signing them as "T. S-D."); identified from an obituary in the London Times]; 2. Burndy Library ... gift of Bern Dibner. Herald of Science no. 44. The illegible autograph or other inscription of a former owner[s] appears faintly on the title leaves, as though it had been washed or bleached from the paper.
SCDIRB c. 1 has the Burndy Library's accession card in Dibner Library file for "part 3 [i.e. v. 2, pt. 1] ... bought at Low, 1943, for 26."
SCDIRB c. 1 has tipped in on the front free endpaper of v. 1, pt. 1-2: a handwritten presentation note ([1] p.) from Scattergood on note-paper engraved with the address "41 Park Square, Leeds," addressed to "Dr. Thorpe F.R.S" and dated Oct. 18, [18]80. The recipient was presumably the British chemist, Thomas Edward Thorpe (1845-1925).
SCDIRB c. 1 of v. 1, pt. 1-2 has old tree-stained full leather bindings with gilt-tooled spines; re-backed. SCDIRB c. 1 of v. 2, pt. 1 has [the original?] black cloth binding with printed leather spine label. The three parts are housed together in a later brown cloth-covered box with gilt-lettered spine label. A group of 7 booksellers' citations for this publication has been clipped together and laid in the box.
SCDIRB c. 2 is incomplete, with v. 2, pt. 1 only (39088006808182); call number QD28 .D15X 1808. The final leaf of bookseller's advertisements (p. [359]-[360]) is wanting.
SCDIRB c. 2 of v. 2, pt. 1 is stamped on half title: U.S.N. Observatory & Hydrographical Office.
SCDIRB c. 2 of v. 2, pt. 1 has a later green buckram libary binding with gilt-lettered spine.
